Aches and sore throat- just in time for xmas

I thought I had beaten the flu bug, but it somehow got me! I decided to a do a few things right away in hopes that it will leave quickly!

First I went to my GP and got a throat swab. I just wanted to make sure it is a viral bug, and not a bacteria bug. My GP said it looked like a viral infection but took a swab just to make sure it was not strep throat (which she said is going around). She does not give out antibiotics for viral infections.

My first product I took (because I had it at home) was Blockade by “New Chapter”- its a lozenger type product to stop viral bugs from spreading. It actually tastes pretty good.

I also had at home some Ester C by” SISU” and Host Defense by “New Chapter”, which I also started taking.

I then stopped at my local natural pharmacy- Finlandia and purchased  a homeopathic remedy - oscilloccoccinum by “Boiron”.

For food, I was able to get some organic chicken noodle soup and extra fruits such as grapefruit and kiwi’s.

For extra help to help boost my immune systems I went to a Acupuncture and TCM clinic, Dr. Peter Zhou’s. You can check his background out at his website

I had acupuncture, cupping and some type of reflexology/qigong therapy. I got to lay down and relax(except for the short moments when the needles went into sore spots) with heat feeding my back and legs. At the same time my cold came on I started to limp because both my legs became very sore and weak. My GP believes that the viral infection went into my legs. I already feel better today, 3 days into this cold.

I will see the Chinese Doctor for the third time next week and will try to keep all the suger snacks away from me over this holiday period. I wish all of you a wonderful Holiday Season.
