9 Years Since My Last Visit
By admin • Jul 30th, 2008 • Category: Blog, FoodIt has been 9 years since I last visited Tita’s Restaurant on Vancouver Island, Comox Valley area of British Columbia. I am thrilled to stay that the food is still amazing. I do not say that lightly. I love authentic Mexican food. When I travel across North America and even other countries I am always on the look out for “real” Mexican food.
This past year I went to Mexican restaurants in Manhattan, downtown Philedalphia, and San Francisco. I can say that all the restaurants had good food, but Tita’s is located in a small town of under 100,000 people on the coast of Vancouver Island .
I was feeling a little better today so I was able to order a drink to go with dinner. I had a red wine sangria with organic corn chips and home made salsa to start. Then since I was not too hungry I ordered the Pollo Taquitos with guacamole and another salsa and cream… unbelievable! I finished with a Mexican flan which was a wonderful ending to a great meal. They have an outside vegetable and fruit garden around the building and tonight they were serving plum margaritas. The plums were from their garden. I can not handle tequilla at the best of times so I missed out but I saw other clients enjoying theirs.
I am working from our boat this week, which is a wonderful way to experience an alternative working liftestyle. The weather has been amazing and I took my 2 little brussels griffons for a nice walk, through a park hugging the ocean, at lunch time.
I see that in the news today, the director at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute , Dr. Herberman sent out a memo to over 300 of his staff, regariding the possible harmful effects from using cell phones. He said he is not waiting for the years of research to show a link between cancer and cell phone usage. I am sure he is getting a lot of flack for putiting out the idea that cell phone usage is harmful to the body and should be monitored, especially with young children because their brains are still developing.
