My Ongoing Personal Healing Journey

I have decided to give a personal account of my healing journey so that other people who may be going through similar disease labels and systems, or who have a family member going through similar challenges may have a source of personal educational ideas for their healing process.  Let’s not forget that health is a process, not an event like the drug companies would like us to believe.

I have had digestive and hormonal issues all my life, and in the last 12 years I have had to endure heavy neck and back pain from a head injury I experienced during a fun outing to an ice rink.  I fell up and backwards onto my head.  I was given anti-convulsion drugs which made me start vomiting and retching forward which was the last thing my head injury needed.

This week I started taking a “New Chapters” product called “Berry Green”.  I have been quite bloated for the past couple of weeks and I have to say I am a little concerned.  I was in the hospital for 11 days back in March 2008 with a transverse colon diverticulitis attack.  Even though I am a Caucasian female in my forties, that is what the diagnosis came back as, after my CAT scan.  Usually this is an a disease typically diagnosed in elderly Asian males, not Caucasian females in their forties.  I have always been hard to label, I guess that still holds true!

I had not been in the hospital for over 10 years and was feeling that I had beaten “the sickness”.  I had been on prescription drugs previous to 10 years ago as well.  It just so happened (my doctors claim it’s a coincidence) that I had been given an antibiotic arthithormisn for a stubborn sinus / ear / eye infection 10 days before the hospital admittance.  I had also had a fever for over 4 months that would not go away.

So back to the present.  I actually did not buy it, but my companion of 10 years did.  I thought I would not like it and could not take it.  I have tried other “Green Drinks” and all have given me instant headaches (the grass content) plus other symptoms that are not pleasant, so I had given up on the idea of “Greens” products.  Well I am glad I did try this one.  There is no grass in this product and it is a combination of 2 parts garden, 1 part orchard and a dash of rain forest.  The best part is that it is all organic and has probiotics included for good gut health.

I see that VitaCost.com has a very good price point on the New Chapters Berry Green product if your local health food store does not carry “New Chapters” products.  This is a great company that has some of the best natural products in North America.

  1. Hi Jay Jay
Your mom told me about this site so of course I went right on. This is so interesting because I am doing something like it only just from my garden. 2 cups water from our well, 2 cups chopped greens from the garden such as beet greens, spinich, kale, pigs weed, chick weed, etc, and 3 different fruits such as raspberries, blue berries, apricots, banana. Because I dont have a juicer I just blend it real well and voila! instant greenish blue juice. Anyway it gives me lots of energy and I agree with you on your article here.
    A Bonnie
