Aurovalley Ashram
By admin • May 29th, 2009 • Category: Blog, Features, Travel, UncategorizedI did some research before I left home on what different ashrams provided. There are many and some provide only a safe, low cost hostel environment while other provide a place for deep reflection. I decided on Aurovalley because of the 2 main evolutionary founders; Sri Aurobindo and “The Mother”. They wrote countless books on how to put into practice the necessity of manifesting indivually and collectively self perfection and world perfection. This ashram is lead by Swami Brahmdev, who founded this ashram back in 1985. He wanted the ashrams aim to be an opening of space for silence and reflection for people in search of their Soul and Spirit, without distinction of nationallity, creed, or spiritual discipline. Aurovalley belongs to all those that want to aspire to a higher nature.
Many personal experiences come up in satsangs. The swami gives out knowledge, humor and a deeper realization of the experiences that have molded our lives. There are many little gems that I heard in my 2 weeks stay. I will share a few of them with you.
Create your reason for life. To live with a higher reason will give you joy and clarity for your life path.
LIfe is movement. We need to control the movements. To do this you will need to grow your consciousness.
Where nature keeps you is the best place. Otherwise you will always be comparing.
Aspirations come from the soul. Desires come from the body.
Silence is where your soul lives.
Wisdom only comes with the growth of consciousness.
Regarding illness: Have 100% gratitude for the illness. Then use your willpower to not surrender to the ill health. Aspire to live. Exist with clarity.
