Rogers Sugar Going GMO?

By admin • Apr 22nd, 2009 • Category: Take Action, Uncategorized

Rogers Sugar (Lantic Inc) is the only processing company left in North America which does not use Genetically Modified sugar beets. In 2008 the Rogers website proudly stated “At the present time all sugar sold by Rogers Sugar Ltd is produced from non-GMO plants.” In early 2009 this statement was removed from their website. (www.lantic.ca) Ceo and President Edward Makin is in the process of deciding whether to accept GM sugar beets for the first time.
GM sugar beets are wind pollinated which means they will contaminate any nearby fields containing non-GMO sugar beets and other related plants such as chard, and red and yellow table beets.
Email or write Edward Makin if you want to make your objections heard
